{"id":23,"date":"2025-09-19T14:49:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T18:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jones4hc.com\/?p=23"},"modified":"2025-09-19T17:06:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T21:06:48","slug":"can-curiosity-may-end-shameless-explained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jones4hc.com\/?p=23","title":{"rendered":"No More Status Quo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When elected I will callout the roadblocks, I will challenge the status quo, and empower Hamilton County Voters with information.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Too often I have seen elected officials fall short of campaign promises, they are put into office then fall inline with what the bureaucratic administrators say what is possible, not possible, and &#8220;this is how we operate&#8221; or &#8221; this is how we have always done it.&#8221; I refute that to my core. What the status quo has gotten Hamilton County is higher taxes, less trust, and more roadblocks to transparency. I am not saying that the couple thousand employees are malicious. I am saying that Hamilton County can lead the way in how local government operates and communicates the effort to get out of the citizens way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I will be the tip of the spear to account for every dollar spent and it&#8217;s effectiveness to the citizens of this county. This should not require an open records request, calling the county auditor, or know the right person. It is a common sense requirement for a modern free society.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Debate. Changing the rules of &#8220;Public Comment&#8221; at the end of every Commission Meeting is needed. The fact that the people cannot callout their elected official or other commissioners is child&#8217;s play and they hide behind Tennessee Law to silence your 1st Amendment. How can there be trust if we cannot have open debate? This is a requirement for improving Hamilton County and to make sure the decisions the Legislative body approves are working. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking legislative power back. It seems to me that the County Commission is more of a dog and pony show, there are supposed to be separate and equal branches of government.
